Two exceptional baby sisters (perhaps twins?) engaged in the most interesting activities ~ one is reading what looks like a Victorian ABC alphabet primer, whereas the other is in the process of stitching or knitting something fine ~ each extraordinarily modeled with feathered eyebrows similar to the ones found on dolls from the 1800's, deeply sculpted hair, one with mouth open showing lovely teeth, haunting blue/grey eyes, superb quality, coloring, decoration, and modelling with elaborate golden leaf decoration throughout!, each unmarked but are said to be made by Heubach, 19th century, each 11.5" tall, overall in excellent vintage condition, with the girl reading the book having the very tip of her right forefinger nail chipped off, a few unnoticeable minor chips to the edges of the pages, and a few typical age cracks & a tiny sliver off the base rim, whereas the girl knitting has had an old repair to her right fingers & arm (as seen in pics) & a few small unnoticeable age cracks & a small chip off the very bottom of base which can only be seen when turned upside down, all these things mentioned are commensurate for pieces of this age & in no way takes away from the breathtaking beauty of these rarities ~ to find *both* sisters is practically unheard of ~ truly a rare p a i r !
