SCARCE pair of well-known Victorian Heubach figures commonly referred to as "the sailor boy whistling at the sexy young girl with the come hither look", both standing atop self-bases simulating a wooden plank, each wearing intricate well-modeled baby blue & daisy yellow colored costumes with gold gilt highlights, with him having just traveled the world & stepped off the boat to see the beauty before him, thus his stance & appreciative whistle, whereas she has come down to the dock to admire all the sailors, and show off her charms in the process, thus her come-hither stance & provocative look in her eye, each exquisitely modeled with Heubach's trademark deeply intaglio eyes, finely sculpted blonde tresses, beautifully blushed cheeks, superbly sculpted mouths & noses, and breathtaking attention to detail throughout (e.g. realistic flow & ebb of her dress & apron and his meticulously patterned shirt, etc.) ~ SUPERB!, both unmarked but guaranteed to be made by Heubach, 19th century, each justy shy of 12.5" tall, and each in excellent vintage condition (practically mint) with just a faint hairline on the fence top behind him, that's it, no missing parts or repairs, chips, et al ~ Near Mint Condition!!!!
FYI: I can't emphasize enough what it's like to find a Heubach *pair* still together after a century, and in near mint condition, unheard of! Truly a RARE find!
