RARE figure of a little Victorian girl dressed up as a snowbaby or an elf, as she looks like one of Santa's little helpers, complete with a comfy looking cloak that covers her from head to ankle, including shoes to keep her warm as she pushes a HUGE snowball, lol, through the snow with an equally huge smile/laugh on her adorable face, exquisitely modeled with perfectly defined realistic features throughout, a trademark of Heubach, marked on bottom of base with Heubach's trademark rising sun logo, circa 19th century, just shy of 4.0" tall, excellent vintage MINT condition with not a thing wrong, just a teeny tiny bit of glaze roughness on the left side of the cape, which was obviously done during the manufacturing process but I wanted to mention it for accuracy's sake only ~ SUPERB FIND!
FYI: none of my books have an example of this extreme rare figure, the only one that comes close can be found on page 34 of Snow Babies, Santas and Elves by Mary Morrison. And I included a picture from the aforementioned book, as Mary Morrison is a friend of mine & gave me permission a long time ago to use any of her pictures in her books for use on the 'net, as it is illegal to post pictures from books without the author's approval. Thanks for understanding.
***NOTE: the first picture includes almost all of the snowbabies I am in the process of selling, as my collection has grown too vast, and now it's time for me to share my treasures with my fellow snowbaby collectors. Please feel free to contact me about any piece you may be interested in. Thank you. :)***
P.S. In my 20+ years of collecting snowbabies, I've honestly never seen this one before, just the one in the aforementioned book, which truly emphasizes how RARE she is, therefore whomever becomes the next owner will be extremely lucky! She would look outstanding in a Christmas Display! :)
