Totally charming scowling black baby in pouty pose, fingers hanging onto the lovely blue beaded necklace strung around his neck, head pointed slightly downward, chubby legs crossed at ankles, realistically depicts a frowning little one, exquisitely modeled with intaglio eyes, raised eyebrows, open mouth, nicely blushed cheeks, molded curly hair, chubby arms & legs, toes & fingers even carved with nails ~ superb!, marked only with a faded blue logo on bottom of base, which I'm sure at one time was the blue Heubach stamp, 19th century, just shy of 5.5" tall, excellent vintage condition (practically mint with just a teeny tiny ding on the very back of his romper, but this is being petty as it is obviously part of the manufacturing process).
FYI: these black piano babies are the rarest of the rare, I've personally only had two in my possession in my 10+ years of collecting, whereas the white ones are fairly common. Not only that, but to have a black piano baby in such superb mint condition is practically unheard of, as they are getting harder & harder to find. Their value will only appreciate in the years to come!
