RARE figure of a little Victorian boy & girl dressed up as a snow children having a blast sledding down a hill, complete with both of the children wearing cable knit sweaters, scarfs, mittens, hats, boots, etc., and two gorgeous Christmas trees complete this quaint Christmas scene! Exquisitely modeled with realistically defined features throughout, marked on bottom of base with Carl Schneider's signature trademark logo, circa 19th century, 5.0" H x 5.0" L x 2.5" W, excellent vintage NEAR MINT condition with just two teeny tiny nicks & an equally tiny age crack on back of vase, everything else superb ~ GORGEOUS RARE FIND!
FYI: a similar figure, but without the color & snow (btw the snow may have been "added on" later on; just a heads up, doesn't affect the outstanding display) can be found on page 49 of Mary Morrison's Big Book of Snow Babies. And I included a picture from the aforementioned book, as Mary Morrison is a friend of mine & gave me permission a long time ago to use any of her pictures in her books for use on the 'net, as it is illegal to post pictures from books without the author's approval. Thanks for understanding.
***NOTE: the first picture includes almost all of the snowbabies I am in the process of selling, as my collection has grown too vast, and now it's time for me to share my treasures with my fellow snowbaby collectors. Please feel free to contact me about any piece you may be interested in. Thank you. :)***
P.S. In my 20+ years of collecting snowbabies, this is the only time I've ever had this particular figure in my collection, I mention this to emphasize its RARITY. Whomever becomes the next owner will be extremely lucky ~ they would look outstanding in a Christmas Display! :)
